Le Havre is one of my all-time favorite games. One of the things I don’t like about it, though, is how fiddly dealing with all the resource chits on the board can be. I’ve seen others solve this issue with plastic containers or other bit boxes, but I wanted something that matched the game a little better, so I designed and built these custom bit boxes!
Each box holds the entire supply of one resource:
And are designed to look just like the resource chits themselves!
I designed them to fit directly onto the game board in the resources spots, and I think they turned out great!
I’ve been making foamcore inserts for a few months, but these are probably (so far) the crown jewels of my D.I.Y. projects. They’re made of heavyweight black chipboard with a printed linen paper wrapping. The longest part of the process was just designing and creating the actual imagery; building the boxes was comparatively straightforward.
