Howdy, All! It’s Mintage Monday time again!

For my 20th Mintage Monday post, I’m showing off another set of bespoke metal coins that actually come with the game they’re designed for, Raiders of the North Sea!

Although Raiders is viking themed, the game as a whole has a cartoony vibe, imparted by the impeccable art of Mihajlo Dimitrievski. The thing I love about these coins is they carry that same feel!

Even though the overall design is meant to emulate ancient viking coins, the coins are given a sort of cartoon twist that really makes them fit well with the game’s illustration and graphic design.

The coins are a nice size and weight, and I love using them. The only downside is they’re pretty useless outside Raiders, as there is only one denomination and a comparatively small number of coins overall.

But ignore all that, because it’s absolutely fantastic not only that Garphill Games made these cool metal coins, but managed to include them in the base price of the game! (Something they didn’t do, to my chagrin, with Architects of the West Kingdom.)
